It just beeps based on how you tilt your iPhone. There is no actual way to detect metal with an iPhone.

I thought this was a gag app but it actually detects metal! Try it with a MacBook Pro or silverware.

I tried it on my iphone4 but it works almost. Basically you can "scan" by showing shiny metals to the cAmera.. But I put a sheet ontop of the metal object and it didnt even show that it was metal.. I liked the idea but its flawed.. Fun but not useful. I doubt you have to scan metal you have to see.

The reason it doesnt work on ipod is because there is no built in compass to detect magnetic fields. A window popped up in the app to tell me that.... So stop complaining

This works for the iPhone not for the iPod, learn to read. Works crazy good!

It works by sensing the angle you hold your phone at not by detecting metal.

Try pointing ur iPhone down onto something non metallic and it will still go off

Id give it 4 star but this app deserve a better rating,anyway the app was good and it suprised that it actualy worked,it has some flaws sometime but it still good,tough some more kind of detecting sound would be awsome,like a true metal detector and the radioactive sound,that would be great! Still a good app tough.

Fact is it works. Not perfect but it works. Stop your whining and get a iPhone4

look in the description it say that it will detect when placed by: speakers, bla bla, PHONES, and more

this app is weird. when it detected metel all it did was say I need some kind of compas.

But i think it only works 4 the iphone 4

If it only work for iPhone then they wouldnt put it on the iPod apple system
